Monument Pilates is a family-owned studio founded by a wife and husband team who spent decades working in bars and restaurants. (If you ever want to talk about great places to eat and drink, chat us up!) When dreaming up Monument, we intentionally skipped both the loud and dark or bougey and snooty experience to create a warm, lived-in space where you feel immediately welcomed and like a regular. You can join us for group classes or private and duet sessions, utilizing the Mat, Reformer, Tower, and Chair. We are extremely proud to offer all of the equipment in house and an entire team of teachers (not just fitness instructors) that are fully certified from recognized training programs who are skilled in both classical and contemporary styles. Here you can find the hands-on, attention to detail that you’ve been missing out on. Joseph Pilates said, “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” Or in more modern language “You need to work out if you want to be truly happy.” We pay homage to that history. We lean hard into the 100+ years of this work being developed and practiced, while also recognizing that some great adaptations have occurred along the way. That dichotomy, that duality of the old and the new, the original and the evolved, the intention and the dream, is what our program is built around.
