Welcome to Checkmat HQ! We’re excited to have you join us for your first Jiu-Jitsu class. 📍 Location: 3290 E 19th St, Signal Hill, CA (Located behind the corner of PCH & Redondo) Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can help you with registration, show you around the academy, and get you fitted for your uniform if needed. 🥋 If you already have a Gi (kimono), please bring it with you. If not, we have rental uniforms available at the academy. A few helpful tips for your first class: • Bring water • Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed for safety • Wear comfortable clothes under the Gi if possible • Remove jewelry before training • Come ready to learn and have fun — no experience needed If you have any questions before class, feel free to contact us.
