Head Back To The Gym Safely With FITNESS SF

Last Updated May 22, 2024
FITNESS SF is a family-owned group of gyms in San Francisco. Learn more about their COVID safety precautions as you head back to the gym.

Good news! In-persongyms and studios are now open just in time for spring and summer sweat sessions.

We sat down with our partner FITNESS SF, a local, family-owned group of gyms in the San Francisco Bay Area, to see what COVID precautions they are taking to keep you safe as you head back to the gym.

😷 Mask Wearing

According to the Mayo Clinic Health System, it’s safe to wear a mask while exercising.*

At FITNESS SF, “all Members & Staff are required to wear masks at all times, except when drinking fluids.” The CDC recommends that your mask completely covers your mouth and nose and fits tightly against the sides of the face without any gaps.

Grab your gym bag, an extra mask (in case the first one gets too sweaty), and get back to your favorite way to move.

📱 Enhanced contactless technology

FITNESS SF’s updated technology, including contactless check-ins, helps to reduce exposure between members and staff.

“With contactless check in through the FITNESS SF App, and a state-of-the-art Thermal Imaging Camera by Kogniz, we’re doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for our Members.”

🧽Increased sanitation

“Our full-time Maintenance Staff runs a tight ship, with regular disinfecting & cleaning throughout the hours.”

The gym’s frequent equipment disinfection, added sanitation stations, and state of the art cleaning products helps to ensure the health and wellbeing of employees and members.

🏋️‍♀️Spaced out equipment

FITNESS SF is also prioritizing personal space with social distancing in accordance with the federal, state, and local guidelines. Members are expected to keep a 6-feet distance from others on the fitness floor, and “all equipment has been evenly spaced out.”

Using their Reservation System, staff can limit the number of members in the gym at any given time, as well in group fitness classes based on the studio size. Additionally, signage/floor markers have been added near the front desk, entrances, and outside group studios to promote physical distancing. Lastly, employees are monitoring the gym floor to ensure all gym goers are following COVID-safe protocols.

💪Outdoor gym

“Our Outdoor Gym was a savor during difficult times!”

If you would rather do your favorite sweaty activity outside, FITNESS SF also offers Outdoor Gyms at the Marin and SOMA locations. Remember to still follow COVID protocols when exercising outside.
