Wellhub Helps Employees Save Money and Stop Forfeiting Benefits

Turn unused benefits into real wellness gains

NEW YORK — October 08, 2025 — Wellhub today announced two features designed to help U.S. employees access wellness benefits they've already paid for but rarely use. Launching during Open Enrollment season, when employees actively review health coverage, the features address a costly gap: in 2023,  47% of FSA account holders forfeited an average of $436 in unused funds, totaling $4.5 billion in lost pre-tax dollars, while 43% of employees abandoned fitness reimbursement claimsdue to confusing paperwork.

What's Launching

Activity & Billing Statement
An in-app tool that generates reports with verified check-in and billing data, formatted to meet documentation standards of most major insurers such as, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, and more. Employees request the report, receive a download link within 24 hours, and can submit it to their health insurance provider when requesting reimbursement. Eligibility and reimbursement amounts are determined solely by each employee's health insurance plan. The process is self-serve with no HR involvement. Available to all U.S. subscribers October 1, 2025.

HSA/FSA Payment
Through partnership with Truemed, qualifying employees may now be able to pay for Wellhub subscriptions using pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars, saving up to 30–40% compared to after-tax payment. Based on an individualized screening, a licensed provider may issue a Letter of Medical Necessity within 2–4 hours, and if a person qualifies, payments process automatically each month—no forms or manual claims required. Available for new subscribers and plan upgrades starting November 2025.
