Taiji (Tai Chi) and Qigong are disciplines that use movement, meditation, and breathing to improve both your health and mobility. Tai Chi is also a martial art and can be used for self-defence. In the classes you will learn to increase your energy, focus, and concentration so as to improve mindfulness, body awareness, and mobility. Previous experience is not necessary. Essentially the short course/workshop is about improving your sensitivity and awareness whilst at the same time learning how to relax and use softness to overcome force. You work with someone else in the group, changing regularly so that you end up working with everyone. All classes are lead by James Drewe, practitioner of Taiji and Qigong since 1975, author and Instructor member of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. SATURDAY ONCE A MONTH This is a 3-hour workshop which focuses on 2-person tai chi exercises. There is a tea-break in the middle of the session. It is not necessary to have previous experience.
