Forget Happy Hour, It's Wellness Hour: 6pm on Tuesdays Emerges as Peak Time for Employees to Focus on Their Wellbeing
New York, NY – 4 December 2024 – Wellhub, the global leader in corporate wellness, today announced its latest Trends Report, and the findings reveal a shift in how employees prioritise their wellbeing. Traditional wellness programmes are evolving – today's workforce is embracing a more holistic approach, focusing on nutrition, healthy habits, and emotional wellbeing alongside physical fitness. The report analyses global data from more than three million Wellhub subscribers across 19,000 corporate clients, uncovering key trends shaping the future of workplace wellness.
Key Findings:
- Strength training remains popular, but yoga is on the rise: Strength Training is the most popular fitness genre, but Yoga saw a 7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in usage, making it the fastest-growing workout genre.
- Nutrition and healthy habits are top priorities: These categories saw significant growth, with nutrition usage up 112% YoY and healthy habits up 71% YoY.
- Public Sector employees prove to be the most active workforce: The government/public sector had the highest engagement with wellness activities, slightly edging out employees in financial services and technology.
- “Wellness hour” is the new happy hour: Tuesdays at 6:00pm is the peak time for wellness activities across the globe, while Sunday saw the lowest level of activity.
Hybrid wellness = more active employees: Employees who use both in-person and digital wellness options are twice as engaged as those who only use one or the other.
